Farming numerous distinctive sites throughout Northern Virginia, we strive to produce wines reflective of place. Most of our bottlings are vineyard-designate wines, and in time we hope to continually realize the uniqueness of these sites through thoughtful winegrowing, both in the vineyard and cellar.

Zephaniah has been a family farm since 1950 when Bill Hatch, Zephaniah's grandson and the father of the grower and winemaker Bill Hatch, purchased the farm. We were one of the 400 dairy farms in Loudoun. Growing grapes and making wine is great farming. We planted our first grapes 21 years ago, and we keep planting. We are fortunate to work as a family with our three adult children.
